Why is these labeled "Download". This is merely just a link to the Urban VPN website.
Urban VPN is free, 100% of the time, which means... there's a catch. Here is some excerpts from the Compliance Term alone:
Our services include collection and processing of certain data. Under certain jurisdictions such data may
be considered as personal data or personal information. For instance, we collect online identifiers, such
as IP address, and website browsing data, such as advertisement clicked or visited by you.
This information is then sold, only anonymized:
We use this data to develop insights and aggregated anonymized used behavior data. We never share, sell or process information directly associated with individuals.
So, after it's collected, they separate the sensitive information from the non-sensitive:
We filter the data on the client side and even on the server side to ensure we filter personal data and personal sensitive data.
Meaning, they collect a lot of information and "client side" is referring to the clients they sell the data to. Also there is no guarantee that the data is unbreachable, despite all the claims of top-notch security:
We implemented procedures to handle any security events (including data breach) and will provide you or the regulators with an immediacy of notification to the extent required under applicable law, if required.
Once breached, it's breached buddy. I'm not trying to kill their hustle. I just want to bring some clarity to the 100% free statement. I mean, I suppose this is much better than your ISP, which could see everything if they wanted, even if it's water under the bridge. But make no mistake about it, they are hustling you. A fair game perhaps where they're making money off you, and your saving money off them.
I would like to vouch for the service but I have yet to try its performance. And to the OP, thanks for the post. I didn't know about this service. It could end up useful after all.
