CLOUDSTREAM (Android/Android TV)
The best streaming app with a very large catalog of movies, series, anime based on the best streaming sites Wiflix, FrenchStream, Vostfree, Neko-Sama...) but without any ads! The quality is very good, there is VF and VOSTFR and even an NSFW section (+18 years old). Also, compatible with Android TV remote control.
NDRL 02/28/23: To fix pb Frenchstream, apply solution D2 from the "pb CLOUDSTREAM resolution" section: download beta version (more advanced to pass site protection), then reimport the Eddy.Frenchstream extension
Prerequisite: uninstall your old Cloudstream version (if installed)
Procedure (Updated on 02/28/23):
1. Download the latest CLOUDSTREAM 3.5.0
The file is safe, here is the VirusTotal analysis (0 detection / 65 antivirus)
2. Open Cloudstream
-allow storage (otherwise impossible to read stream)
- Choose language= English + Next
- Extension= click on "Next" (will be configured later)
- Preferred media = check the desired categories (Movies, series, anime, NFSW...) + Next
- Leave "auto" + Done
3. Click on "cogwheel" icon on the left to open the settings and configure as follows:
- General - DNS with HTTPS: select "Cloudflare" (so as not to be blocked by your ISP) + Apply
- If you want NSFW content, go to "Provider" - Enable NSFW
4.Add Extensions
To be able to operate and search on film/series/anime databases, I recommend the following 3 extensions:
4.1) Eddy plugin
Excellent extension because contains the database of the best French film, series, anime streaming sites: Wiflix, FrenchStream, Vostfree, Neko-Sama...
- Go to "Extensions" menu
- Click on "Add repository"
- line "repository name"= do not put anything
- line "repository URL"=type: "eddy" (without quotes and in lower case) for eddy
- Click on "Add Repository"
- "Download all plugin.from this repository". Click on "Download"
- "Eddy extension plugin is successfully downloaded"
4.2) "Dontseehere" extension
This extension contains only one useful provider: FilePursuit, but very interesting because it will search the huge Opendirectories database (FTP directories on the net) with films / series / anime in French in much higher video quality than streaming sites traditional. On the other hand a lot of dead links whose content does not launch
To install it: follow the same procedure as Eddy extension but type "dsh" instead of "Eddy"
To go faster then when searching, you can go to the list of this extension and put in the trash (by clicking on the trash can icon) all sites except FilePursuit
4.3) Extension "English"
You tell me why English? I'm french me! Well, can you imagine, this extension includes the SuperStream site on which there are English films of course, but also a huge catalog of old or recent French films and generally in much higher video quality than Wiflix or FrenchStream
To install it: follow the same procedure as Eddy extension but type "eng" instead of "Eddy"
To go faster then during the search, you can go to the list of providers of this extension and put in the trash (by clicking on the trash can icon) all the sites except SuperStream
4.4) Subsidiary Extensions:
- If you want NSFW content (Xvideo, Pornhub...), repeat the same procedure as for "Eddy Extension", but type "nsfw" instead of "eddy" to download NFSW extension
- if you want content in English, type "multi" (for multilingual extension) and/or "hexa" (for hexaded extension). You can then put the subtitles in French. If you don't want to see content in English, don't install them because it will burden the search for nothing
Warning: if you install the multi extension, then go to the list of sites for this extension and delete "Wiflix" and "Frenchstream" because they are never up to date, whereas they are on the "Eddy" extension (and you will have a pb if you want to clone later
5. Configure Cloudstream homepage (only if you want to discover things to see)
- Click on the "house" icon in the left menu
- Click on the horizontal lines
- Choose Wiflix (or FrenchStream). On the other hand, you will not see FilePursuit in this tab because it is a search engine (search tab)
6. To search for movies, series, anime:
- click on the "magnifying glass" icon in the left menu
- click on the horizontal lines to the right of the search bar to select or deselect the sites to be included or not in the search engine according to the categories concerned
For maximum efficiency, I advise you to enable only the following sites;
- film/series= FilePursuit, Frenchstream, MesFilms, Superstream, Wiflix, Empire-Streaming
- Animes:= Anime-Sama, Neko-sama. Otaku, Vostfree, wiflix, frenchstream
- Type name of movie, series or anime in the search bar
- click on the results to launch the film or series
NB: on the results of the "SuperStream" site, don't trust the title in English, if it's a film from France, it will be in French
Recommended CLOUDSTREAM settings
A) Reload extensions regularly (once/15 days) to take advantage of updates (URL correction or addition of new streaming sites)
- Go to "Extension" menu and click on "trash can" icon to the right of the extension and delete extension
- close Cloudstream then reopen it
- reimport the extension (see point 4 of the procedure)
- close Cloudstream and restart it
- do a new search for films / series / anime by reselecting the streaming sites in the filters (there may be new sites)
B) Change the video quality of the movie or series
When the film/series has started, click on "sources" at the bottom to choose a host which will be in + or - good quality (for info Uptostream is excellent)
C) To have film in VOSTFR if the film is in English, click on "sources" to activate the French subtitles
Resolution of CLOUDSTREAM issues
D) If when searching for films/series, the Wiflix or FrenchStream site (or others) never gives any results:
It's probably because these streaming sites have changed URLs (about once/3 weeks) or they have implemented Cloudflare protection (to avoid DDOSS attacks) which blocks on Cloudstream and the new URL ( or the alternative URL without protection) has not yet been taken into account in Cloudstream. To take them into account, 2 solutions (use the 1st and if it doesn't work, use the 2nd):
D1) solution 1: reinstall "Eddy extension" (or other extension) in order to take into account the URL modifications (if the extension has been updated):
Follow the same procedure as point A of the "Recommended CLOUDSTREAM settings" section above
D2) Solution 2: Install the Cloudstream beta version (which often resolves site blocking reports)
- Go to Settings menu - Update and Backup
- Activate the cursor on line "Update to a beta version"
- Restart Cloudstream. At startup it will offer you to download the Beta version (allow beforehand the installation of APK file from Cloudstream
- Install the Cloudstream Beta version and open it (red cloudstream icon)
- Reconfigure Cloudstream identically (parameter, extensions....)
D3) Solution 3: manually correct the URL of the blocked provider (Frenchstream, Wiflix...) by creating a clone with the new URL
- Settings - General - Clone site
- Select the line "Wiflix" (or Frenchstream or other) + "Apply" and enter this:
- 1st line: put a random name (ex: Wiflix clone)
- 2nd line: enter new URL of the site (you will find new URL in chap 1 "best streaming site" where I update regularly or in the installation procedure)
- 3rd line: enter "en" (without quotes)
- Close Cloudstream and restart it so that the updates are taken into account
- Click on the "magnifying glass" icon in the left menu
- Select "Movies" tab and activate the name of the cloned site you entered
- Repeat the same by selecting "series" and "anime" tabs
WARNING: If url Wiflix/FrenchStream changes again and is still not auto update in the providers list: do this manipulation:
- general-parameter- clone site
- remove wiflix 2 and/or frenchstream2
- to restart
- redo manipulation to add new clone (see above)
E) If several films/series do not launch on one provider: several solutions
- Try to change host: during the stream, click on "Sources" and change the host
- if it still does not work and no films/series start with the streaming site, it is surely that the site has modified URL or set up blockages: the site must be updated with procedure point D2 or D3
F) If message at start of Cloudstream indicating that new version available, do it:
- Click on "Update" button
- "For security purposes, the installation of unknown applications...", click on "Settings" and put the cursor to the right on the "Cloudstream" application line + return (left arrow remote control)
- Click again on "Update" then on "Install"
